KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Bhd has introduced a new paving solution known as NeuPave for the construction industry, which will help companies reduce construction costs, increase productivity and profitability.

NeuPave will contribute to the high-standards of quality and environmental sustainability, said Sunway chief executive officer Datuk Chew Chee Kin.

Chew said NeuPave, developed by Sunway Paving Solutions Sdn Bhd’s in-house research and development division using the latest concrete technology, is a breakthrough product for construction activities.

NeuPave is ideal for usage in irrigation and landscaping techniques, he added.

Besides contributing to flood reduction, NeuPave reduces erosion caused by flooding, promotes groundwater recharge, reinforces and stabilises soil and improves water quality by trapping and treating pollutants.

“The pavers are unique from the traditional hardscape paving, which are not water-permeable and only allows water to run off their hard surfaces and to the nearest drainage channel,” he said.

Chew said NeuPave can be used for light to medium vehicular traffic pavement, parking lots, driveways, back lane, pedestrian paths, bicycle paths, pool decks, jogging and buggy tracks and emergency vehicle access lanes.

He said NeuPave benefits property developers as the use of the product provides about 17 green building index points.

“The introduction of the technologically advanced NeuPave brand strengthens the synergistic benefits between Sunway’s property and construction core businesses, allowing us to cater to the ever evolving needs of the construction industry,” Chew said.

Chew said Sunway is the first to manufacture this type of pavers in Malaysia.

He said the product took three-and-a-half years to develop and it is currently being manufactured in China and Malaysia.

NeuPave was launched at the 13th International Architecture, Interior Design and Building Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur last month.
