Key index gains 9 points

SOUTHEAST Asian stock markets closed generally higher yesterday with Indonesia and Malaysia ending at record highs.

Singapore stocks rose, with the benchmark Straits Times Index gaining 0.30 per cent, or 9.12 points, to 3,038.73 at the close.

Among the active stocks, Singapore Telecom gained 1.25 per cent to S$ 3.23 and Fraser and Neave added 1.10 per cent to S$ 9.16.
