KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit closed higher against the US dollar yesterday as most market players remained on the sidelines ahead of a likely revision of the US first quarter growth results, dealers said.
At 5pm, the local unit was quoted at 3.0700/0730, compared to Wednesday’s close of 3.0780/0810.
The ringgit ended lower against other major currencies. It fell against the Singapore dollar to 2.4286/4329, compared with Wednesday’s 2.4238/4275 and eased versus the yen to 3.0496/0541, compared with 3.0298/0334 previously.
The ringgit also declined against the British pound to 4.6563/6614, compared with 4.6379/6440 on Wednesday and slipped against the euro to 3.9793/9841 versus 3.9669/9711 previously. Bernama
