THE Straits Times Index (STI) ended 8.49 points, or 0.27 per cent, higher to 3096.74 yesterday.

The FTSE ST Mid Cap Index added 0.37 per cent while the FTSE ST Small Cap Index declined 0.24 per cent. Of the actives, DBS fell 0.30 per cent, GoldenAgri rose 4.63 per cent, SingTel advanced 0.28 per cent, Keppel Corp rose 0.10 per cent and OCBC added 0.31 per cent .

The outperforming sector, FTSE ST Consumer Services added 0.79 per cent. Of its two biggest stocks, Genting Singapore went up 1.12 per cent and Jardine Cycle and Carriage gained 2.92 per cent. Agencies
